Photo: 2Face Idibia donates N3.5million to IDPs

Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, on Monday, February 27th, presented a cheque of N3.5million to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Lagos

Speaking at the presentation, the musician said that he was particularly touched when he visited camps of the Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs) in the North-East.
He called on other well-meaning Nigerians to come all out and support the International organisation in its effort at protecting the millions of Nigerians in the various camps.

"The conditions I met the internally displaced persons, when I visited their various camps were terrible. They were really terrible," he said.
"The 2Face Foundation has, therefore, decided to enter into partnership with the UNHCR to see how we can help put smiles on the faces of these persons. My foundation is today presenting this cheque to the UNHCR to support it in its operations of alleviating the sufferings of these IDPs," he added.
In her remark, the UNHCR’s Acting Country Representative to Nigeria, Ms Brigitte Mukango-Eno, commended 2Face for the humanitarian gesture, adding that her Agency currently needed public support for its operations in the North East.

Mukango-Eno, who was represented UNHCR’s External and Donor Relations Officer, Mr Hanson Tamfu, said that the activities of Boko Haram in the North- East had overstretched the agency’s financial base.
“We sincerely want to express the gratitude of the UNHCR to 2Face. This is a right step toward our private sector following. Over these years, it has become important for us, as an organisation, to depend on the private sector, for us to be able to meet our responsibilities. 2Face has scored a very important goal by discovering the UNHCR Office within the UN system. We want to use this opportunity to appeal to other private Nigerians and philanthropists to emulate this gesture by the 2Face Foundation in alleviating the conditions of the IDPs in the North East," she said.

BEWARE INSANE WOMAN ON THE LOOSE! Daddy Freeze exposes Kemi Olunloyo

As Kemi Olunloyo the very controversial journalist has gone on an investigative journey
💥🔥D A N G E Rccccccc

**P U B L I C W A R N I N G**

BEWARE INSANE WOMAN ON THE LOOSE!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

@hnnafrica IS DEADLY

But come to think of it, Its not entirely bad to be insane.

Albert Einstein smoked butts of cigarettes he picked from the floor, was once scribbling a mathematical equation on a car in traffic, and started running after the car scribbling away as it drove off. He divorced his wife Mavic, to marry his cousin Elsa. He was totally MAD! Yet despite all this, he changed the world of physics with his relativity theory.

Howard Hughes would lock himself in a room for months on end, naked, not letting anyone come in, urinating in bottles not having his bath in weeks, yet he was the richest man in the world, he was a test pilot, who owned his own airline and flew many test flights, crashing badly in one! Howard was a complete lunatic, yet he changed the face of aviation and entrepreneurship.

Galilei Galileo was considered mad for daring to declare that the world round, and was made to publicly denounce this ‘blasphemous’ statement! It took normal ‘sane’ people about 100 years to catch up with that mad man!

Isaac Newton was another mad person who was born on the same day the other mad man, Galileo, died. Although renowned for his unpredictable and irrational behavior, Newton was single-handedly responsible for laying the the groundwork in classical mechanics, optics, and even mathematics.

Vincent van Gogh was an absolute maniac, out of anger or frustration, it is alleged that he once cut off his own ear. Not one sane person bought his paintings while alive, yet today his portrait of Dr. Gachet sold for $82,500,000 the equivalent of more than 8 of those $9.8 million NNPC boss Yakubu safes, is what sane people paid for a single drawing of a mad person.

Samuel Morse, the man who invented both the telegraph and the morse code was a confirmed nutter, yet so many sane people enjoyed his work.

Maybe our ‘sanity’ is what is restricting our breakthrough. Perhaps, a little madness is what we need!
Our sanity took us into recession, maybe insanity can invent something that will bring us out! ~FRZ”

it is better to be an atheist than a Christian – See why Pope Francis suggested thisit is better to be an atheist than a Christian – See why Pope Francis suggested this

Pope Francis in his usual method delivered another criticism of some members of his own Church on Thursday, suggesting it is better to be an atheist than one of “many” Catholics who he said lead a hypocritical double life. In improvised comments in the sermon of his private morning Mass in his residence, he said: “It is a scandal to say one thing and do another. That is a double life.”
“There are those who say ‘I am very Catholic, I always go to Mass, I belong to this and that association’,” the head of the 1.2 billion-member Roman Catholic Church said, according to a Vatican Radio transcript.
pope francis
He said that some of these people should also say “‘my life is not Christian, I don’t pay my employees proper salaries, I exploit people, I do dirty business, I launder money, (I lead) a double life’.” There are many Catholics who are like this and they cause scandal,” he said. “How many times have we all heard people say ‘if that person is a Catholic, it is better to be an atheist’.” Since his election in 2013, Francis has often told Catholics, both priests and lay people, to practice what their religion preaches.
In his often impromptu sermons, he has condemned sexual abuse of children by priests as being tantamount to a “Satanic Mass”, said Catholics in the mafia excommunicate themselves and told his own cardinals to not act as if they were “princes”. Less than two months after his election, he said Christians should see atheists as good people if they do good.

‘EFCC is a thief’ Ex-first lady cries out

The Ex-first lady in her continuous battle with the Economic Financial Crimes commission has tagged the agency as thieves.
The commission recently stricted the use of five accounts which she claimed to own. Four of the accounts were opened with company names by former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamow Dudafa.
Mrs Jonathan sent an open letter written to EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu by via her lawyers where she made the comments, FirstLaw Solicitors on Sunday, September 18.
The letter reads:
1. By virtue of the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules 2009, we are Solicitors to HER EXCELLENCY, MRS. PATIENCE IBIFAKA GOODLUCK JONATHAN, the wife to the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, HIS EXCELLENCY, DR. GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN, GCFR. We shall hereinafter, refer to Mrs. Patience Goodluck Jonathan as “OUR CLIENT.”
2. Our Client is a respected senior citizen of international repute, a retired Permanent Secretary and the immediate past First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our Client is a law-abiding citizen who has never or at all been the subject of any criminal and/or financial investigation, whether at home or abroad. Accordingly, she has not been found guilty of any criminal conduct throughout a sparkling public service career spanning over 35 years.
3. During the 5 years our Client served as First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between May, 2010 and May, 2015; she was the Initiator/Founder of the A. ARUERA WOMEN FOUNDATION as well as the WOMEN FOR CHANGE INITIATIVE; both of which Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) substantially contributed to the 35 per cent affirmative action for women in the country. Our Client is the recipient of numerous local and international awards in recognition of her untiring commitment towards uplifting the living standard of women, children and the aged in Nigeria.
4. Sir, it is against this sterling and meritorious background of our Client that we most respectfully, write to draw your attention to the numerous breaches of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act 2004 committed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in cause of the Commission’s illegal and unlawful investigation of our Client for alleged money laundering. These investigations have reportedly led to the freeze of our Client’s accounts and led to untold consequences to our Client’s health and wellbeing.
5. Firstly, the EFCC must realize that the ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION (ESTABLISHMENT) ACT 2004 is inferior in content and quality to both the 1999 CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA (AS AMENDED) and THE AFRICAN CHARTER ON HUMAN AND PEOPLES RIGHTS 2004.
6. To that extent, it is trite law that, where there is a conflict or an inconsistency between the EFCC ACT, on the one hand; and the combined provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights 2004, on the other hand; the extant provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights 2004 must necessarily prevail to the extent of the said inconsistency.
7. However, we note, with regret, that in the current matter involving the curious and bizarre investigation of our esteemed Client, the EFCC under your watch has not only undermined the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights; the Commission has actually conducted itself in a most desperate, despicable and arrogant manner. This is rather unfortunate.
8. Sir, one of the cardinal principles enshrined in both Nigerian and African jurisprudence, is that of the presumption of innocence which is guaranteed to all citizens, including our Client.
9. Consequently, the SPECIAL POWERS of the Commission as defined by SECTION 7(1) & (2) of the EFCC ACT 2004 to, among others, “cause investigations to be conducted into the properties of any person if it appears to the Commission that the person’s life style and extent of the properties are not justified by his source of income,” is inconsistent with and contrary to the mandatory requirement of SECTION 36(6)(a) & (b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which states thus:
“Every person who is charged with a criminal offence shall be entitled to – (a) be informed promptly in the language that he understands and in detail of the nature of the offence; (b) be given adequate time and facilities for the preparation of his defence;”
10. The necessary implication or import of SECTION 36(6)(a) & (b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) is that the EFCC’s so-called power to arbitrarily and unlawfully investigate our esteemed Client and thereby, freeze her accounts with total sum in excess of FIFTEEN MILLION US DOLLARS which are domiciled with SKYE BANK PLC is NOT ABSOLUTE.
11. Sir, it is our Client’s brief that there is no formal criminal complaint of economic and financial crime as defined by the EFCC ACT 2004 written by any person or institution against her which warranted the EFCC to freeze her accounts.
12. It is also our Client’s brief that the EFCC failed to obtain a Court Order as required by SECTION 34 of the EFCC ACT before her accounts were frozen.
13. It is our Client’s further brief that, up until the writing of this Open Letter, she has not received any formal invitation to appear before the Commission for questioning; whereas her accounts domiciled with SKYE BANK PLC have since been frozen by the Commission without recourse to her.
14. Sir, the argument put forward by the Commission in the public domain that, “investigations are ongoing…Mrs. Patience Jonathan shall be invited in due course,” are not only vexatious and provocative. They constitute an outright violation and rape of the fundamental right to fair hearing and ownership of property as guaranteed to our Client by the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights 2004.
15. Indeed, SECTION 36(6)(a) & (b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), contains or laid down a sequence or pattern of commencement of investigation which MUST BE FOLLOWED STRICTLY, to wit:
a. Persons charged with a criminal offence must be informed in the language they understand and in detail of the nature of the offence;
b. Such persons must be given adequate time and facilities for the preparation of their defence; etc
16. Sir, instead of strict compliance with the above pattern, as laid down by SECTION 36(6)(a) & (b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the EFCC went after our Client’s money by ordering a freeze of her accounts. With all due respect, the EFCC is a BIG THIEF!
17. We are very much aware of numerous instances where EFCC used strong-arm tactics to dispossess hard working Nigerians of their legitimately earned money; only to turn around to brazenly and shamelessly loot the recovered loot. This is one of such unfortunate instances. Clearly, it is a failed politically-motivated attempt by the EFCC to steal our Client’s money using the cover of the present political climate.
18. We are sufficiently convinced that prebendal politics of the sort that smears the image and reputation of former public office holders, together with that of members of their families – which automatically, distracts from governance and slows down the nation’s pace of development – is one of the major reasons for the persistent and unrelenting politically-motivated attacks on our Client who is extremely popular with Nigerian women, children and the aged.
19. We have rightly observed that each time a new Government was sworn into office, political jobbers such as the EFCC promptly mobilized themselves to throw mud, blackmail and/or otherwise label members of the immediate past Government; all in a desperate bid to accomplish or satisfy narrow and base political interests to the detriment of the entire country. This disturbing familiar pattern of unjustifiable, bankrupt and hollow harassment of the nation’s former leaders is deplorable.
20. Our Client has unfortunately, come under the vice grip and stranglehold of the cabal of political jobbers who would not allow her concentrate on her private life in retirement. Ironically, our Client’s most virulent critics and traducers come from the human rights community in Nigeria which benefited immensely from her husband’s fairly commendable human rights record, while he served as President.
21. Notably, we recall that the Freedom of Information Act 2015 was signed into law by former President Goodluck Jonathan. The Criminal Justice Administration Law 2015 was also signed into law by the former President. Needless to say, these extant laws have strengthened Nigeria’s civil society to act effectively as the nation’s “fourth arm of government.”
22. For the avoidance of doubt, it shall be counter-productive and inimical to the public interest if the Attorney General of the Federation and/or the EFCC heeded the irresponsible calls to commence the arrest and prosecution of our Client based on suspicion. If they did otherwise, they shall be violating the extant provision of SECTION 174(3) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) which clearly prohibits criminal proceedings that were not in the public interest. Besides, suspicion; no matter how strong it may seem; cannot ground a conviction.
23. We hereby categorically and emphatically state that, HER EXCELLENCY, MRS. PATIENCE IBIFAKA GOODLUCK JONATHAN SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE!
24. Furthermore, there is no established legal or political precedent for what the EFCC is currently doing to our Client. How many former First Ladies in Nigeria have received the Patience Goodluck Jonathan Treatment (PGJT) to have warranted the EFCC to engage in the effrontery to freeze our Client’s accounts and subject her to public opprobrium, ridicule and disgrace? This nonsense must stop forthwith!
25. Consequently, we urge the EFCC to de-freeze our Client’s accounts WITHIN 14 DAYS from today, September 18, 2016 and tender a public apology to our Client.
26. TAKE NOTICE; AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that if the EFCC fails, refuses and/or neglects to comply accordingly, we shall file an action at the AFRICAN COMMISSION ON HUMAN AND PEOPLES RIGHTS at The Gambia demanding FIVE BILLION NAIRA in exemplary and punitive damages.

DSTV, MTN and Shoprite to be affected if Nigerian students take actions due to Xenophobic attacks in SA – NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has given 48 hours ultimatum to all South African companies in Nigeria to relocate over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. The students gave the ultimatum at a peaceful demonstration at some South African companies in Abuja on Thursday.
During the march the students carried a banner, which read: ‘’NANS against Xenophobic Attacks on Nigerians.’’ While the students marched, the security men stood and watched to ensure law and order. The President of NANS, Mr Kadiri Aruna, said in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at DSTV office, a South African company, in Wuse 2, Abuja, that Nigerian students had resolved to condemn the attacks.
“We are saying that enough is enough as South Africans have openly attacked and bullied Nigerians.’’ Aruna said that the protest would also serve as a warning to other countries trying to underrate Nigerians. He said that after 48 hours, if nothing was done, messages would be sent to students in all university campuses to bring down MTN masts all over the country.
mtn9
Aruna said that DSTV and Shoprite would also be affected as the union had put adequate strategies in place to make the action effective. “All the South African business empires in Nigeria and their collaborators in Nigeria will be affected.
“I don’t want to say we will be barbaric but we will not be lawful in our actions, we will do it and face the consequences, enough of this rubbish,’’ he said. Aruna stressed that the poor treatment being meted out to Nigerians was particularly insulting given the role Nigeria played in ending the apartheid regime in South Africa. “Nigeria contributed 80 per cent of the freedom the South Africans are enjoying today because we saved them from the jaws of apartheid.
“Who is South Africa to humiliate Nigeria? So they forget things so soon, let them go back to history and records to see how much financial assistance and what the country did to save them,’’ he said. The union president said that the situation was inhuman and for this reason all reasonable Nigerians must react. “In science they say you use malaria to cure malaria, now you use madness to cure their madness, and that is why we are advising them to leave Nigerian soil before 48 hours.’’
He said that the Federal Government should not wait till the dying minute before evacuating Nigerians from South Africa. Aruna said it was time for government not to only condemn the attacks but take a firm stand by summoning South Africa’s high commissioner and if possible cut diplomatic ties with that country. “Government should take extra-diplomatic measures in dealing with the latest deadly assaults because if nothing drastic is done it will become a regular occurrence.
“This is the time to place South Africa where it belongs,’’ he said. He said that the last time the xenophobic attack happened nothing was done, no action was taken and no arrest was made and that was why South Africans repeated the attacks. Aruna said it was so unfortunate that during the attacks the South African Government refused to take up its responsibility of securing Nigerians and their properties.
“The government of South Africa is criminally quiet and they say silence is consent, and their police are folding their hands while they are killing Nigerians, this is conspiracy, enough is enough,’’ he said. He said the peaceful rally would continue and spread across the country. Over 50 police and, DSS operatives surrounded the DSTV premises and along the street making it impossible for newsmen to contact any DSTV officials for comments.

Whistle blowers in Cross River promisesd N1 million for exposing Kidnappers and armed robbers, Governor Ayade reveals

Thursday, 23 February 2017

Governor of Cross River state Prof Ben Ayade has announced that the sum of N1million will be given to anyone who can offer information leading to the arrest of kidnappers and armed robbers in the state.

He made this announcement on Tuesday at the Executive Council Chambers, Calabar, during a courtesy visit from the newly posted Commissioner of Police to the state, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa.

The whistleblowing operation, which was named “Hafiz law”, according to Governor Ayade, reveals that anyone who blows the whistle on an armed robber or a kidnapper and by intelligence or investigation that armed robber or kidnapper is found to be true, that person is entitled to N1million.

To avoid a situation whereby innocent citizens are accused and prosecuted, Ayade said that thorough investigation will be conducted and only after they have been proven guilty beyond all reasonable doubt will they be prosecuted. He said that the state police have the capacity to conduct such investigation. He called on the citizens to report armed robbers, anyone found possessing firearms illegally, kidnappers and their allies.

The new CP, Inuwa, had earlier stated that he is open to working with citizens who are willing to join hands with him to make the state peaceful.

Who will win Best Celebrity Trump Hater at the Oscars? Piers Morgan writes

Thursday, 23 February 2017

Read his write up below...
The Oscars are nearly upon us and tension is building. No, not for who might win the big awards on Sunday night, but over which star can win the most coveted prize for Best Celebrity Trump Hater on the Planet.
This is the big one for all those hysterical Hollywood liberal snowflakes who’ve been frothing at the mouth since Donald Trump became President.

They’ve got live TV, a billion or more people watching around the world, and a room full of 3,500 largely like-minded souls all waiting to roar on every Trump-bashing speech from the podium.
All eyes, of course, will be on Meryl Streep, the Queen of Tinseltown and self-designated Chief Trump Hater, who has spent most of this awards season making ever more dramatic denunciations of her President. I have no doubt that Ms Streep is beavering away right now on some more headline-grabbing anti-Trump bile.
But it’s worth remembering her words at the Golden Globes: ‘The instinct to humiliate when it’s modelled by someone in the public platform,’ she said, tearfully, ‘filters down to everybody’s life. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence.’ Does it, Meryl?
OK, well forgive me if I don’t now examine the way your fellow stars have used their own public platforms when it comes to discouraging disrespect and violence in relation to the President?
This week, Judd Apatow, high profile producer of movies like 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, told a Los Angeles audience that after election night he felt ‘like a person about to get raped but I didn’t know how bad it would be. Now, I feel like I’ve just been raped. I just don’t know if I’m going to get murdered.’ The crowd wildly applauded.
Many of them, I suspect, had been on the recent Women’s March. Yet they were happy to cheer a sickening rape analogy from a man who has repeatedly attacked Bill Cosby over claims that he raped women, and who just 18 months ago was even honoured by the Rape Foundation.
The audience cheered again when Apatow crudely mocked Melania Trump: ‘Every day she’s not in the White House, is a day she’s not getting f***ed by Donald Trump.’ And they whooped yet again when Apatow turned his tormenting turrets on Trump’s 10-year-old son, Barron: ‘He f**ing gets it. He knows his dad’s a f**ing a**hole!’ Nice stuff, right? Going after a president’s wife and young child in such a foul-mouthed, deeply unpleasant manner is, I’m sure, exactly what Michelle Obama had in mind when she said, ‘When they go low, we go high..’
During the recent disgraceful riots at UC Berkeley, just as protestors were seen on TV smashing windows, throwing smoke bombs and flares and setting fires alight, Apatow tweeted: ‘This is just the beginning. When will all the fools who are still supporting Trump realise what’s at stake?’ The coward then deleted his tweet, explaining: ‘I never support violence..’ Yes, you do, Mr Apatow. Just as you use rape as a shameful prop for your vile humour. He wasn’t the only celebrity encouraging violence on the night of the Berkeley riots.
Comedian Sarah Silverman called for a coup, tweeting: ‘WAKE UP & JOIN THE RESISTANCE! ONCE THE MILITARY IS W US FASCISTS GET OVERTHROWN. MAD KING & HIS HANDLERS GO BYE BYE.’ Indeed, violence seems to be a running theme of these ‘peace-loving’ celebrity liberals. At the Women’s March in Washington DC, Madonna shrieked: ‘Yes I’m angry, yes I’m outraged. Yes, I have thought a lot about blowing up the White House!’ Robert De Niro has repeatedly said of Trump: ‘I’d like to punch him in the face.’
Last night, at the BRIT awards in London, Katy Perry had two giant skeletons of President Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May dancing on stage and then set them on fire.
‘Rise up! The Revolution is coming!’ Hillary-adoring Ms Perry tweeted after the election. I think we can now see how that revolution would manifest itself. Many celebrities have raced to brand Trump the new Hitler, one of the world’s worst genocidal dictators who murdered 12 million people, including six million Jews in the Holocaust.
Cher, who demanded Trump be ‘thrown in a volcano’, said his presidency would be like ‘Germany was in the ‘30s.’ Louis C.K. agreed: ‘The guy is Hitler.’ Richard Gere preferred a different dictator comparison: ‘He’s a guy who’s obviously Mussolini.’ Yes, obviously – because Mussolini was only responsible for 400,000 deaths. Some celebrities who profess to be appalled by the disrespectful way Trump talks, have no such qualms when it comes to their own rhetoric. ‘I think he’s the f**ing most vile person on the planet,’ said model Chrissy Teigen.
‘A monumental a**hole.’ Andy Cohen concurred, calling Trump a ‘f**ing a**hole’. Margaret Cho said Trump was ‘like no ply toilet paper.’ Amanda Seyfried called him a ‘snorting piece of garbage.’ The aforementioned De Niro said Trump was ‘a punk, a dog, a pig, a con…a fool, a bozo.’ Miley Cyrus branded him a ‘f**ing nightmare.’ Elizabeth Banks said he was a ‘fat old orange P.O.S.’ Rihanna stated he is an ‘immoral pig.’
Jennifer Lawrence, who had apocalyptically warned, ‘If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world,’ now says the only two words she’d want to say to President Trump if she meets him are, ‘F**K YOU!’ Johnny Depp, with a comical lack of self-awareness, said Trump is a ‘brat’. Well you should know, Johnny boy! Much of the absurdly hypocritical hysteria surrounding Trump is driven by the fact that all these celebrities loudly backed Hillary Clinton and never imagined she’d lose, so they’ve gone into some kind of anaphylactic shock.
John Legend said before the election: ‘It’s pretty clear that Trump’s brand of politics is not a winning brand of politics.’ That complacent confidence turned into sneering arrogance, best summed up by Hillary herself when she branded Trump supporters a ‘basket of deplorables.’ An attitude that Chris Kelly, head writer for Saturday Night Live, embraced with this stunningly offensive comment after Trump landed the Republican nomination: ‘Donald Trump is winning because everyone you’ve ever been on a bus with gets to vote too.’
In the end, it wasn’t a bus these self-satisfied luvvies needed to worry about, it was the Trump Train. Hillary and the Hollywood elites got run over by a candidate who tapped into real America’s cares and concerns, not the ones dictated from mansions in Malibu or the Hamptons. What is truly laughable is that all these Trump-loathing stars would still have you believe they stand for liberal values of fairness, tolerance, peace, respect, equality and democracy.
Yet when confronted with their preferred candidate losing, they’ve resorted to exactly the kind of profane, ugly trash-talking and violence-encouraging nonsense that they claim to hate in the guy who won. And anyone who dares to say anything moderately favourable or reasonable about Trump, even if they didn’t vote for him or particularly agree with his politics, must be vilified, banned, boycotted, firebombed and shunned into silence.
Their faux outrage is…outrageously sanctimonious. Perhaps, though, the real reason so many celebrities hate Donald Trump is that he is now more famous than all of them put together. Yesterday, the New York Times drew this conclusion after reporting evidence from data firm mediaQuant, which counts all mentions of a particular brand or personality in just about every outlet from mainstream media to blogs and Twitter, and then estimates what those mentions would cost if someone were to pay for them. In January, Trump broke mediaQuant’s records, receiving $817 million in coverage.
This was more than the next 1000 of the world’s best-known figures - including Hillary Clinton, Kim Kardashian, Vladimir Putin and Tom Brady - COMBINED. (Their total came to $721 million.) Given the fact there are now many people on the planet than ever before, and most of us now have access to the internet and social media, the Times declared that Donald Trump is now the most famous and talked about person in history.
So when Hollywood, the most fame-hungry, egotistical place on Planet Earth, rises to denounce him on Sunday night, just bear in mind that their fury might not be entirely unconnected to this one simple fact.
Trump, until recently a mere reality TV host, is now getting all their A-list celebrity oxygen and the only way La La Land can get a piece of the action is to attack him. As H.G. Wells put it: ‘Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo.’

5 Nigerian musicians who have a side hustle apart from music

Thursday, 23 February 2017

Back in the day, there was a worrisome trend among Nigerian artistes. Those who were in the limelight and considered to be rich because they are the ‘rave of the moment’ would become broke just a few years after no longer being in the limelight.

The sad trend would be amplified should a life threatening ailment befall such artiste or his standard of living became quite deplorable. Then our internet would be filled with cries for help and claims about how the industry is unfair and does not recognize the contributions of the said artiste to it's growth.

'It's better to be an atheist than a greedy Christian' - Pope Francis

Thursday, 23 February 2017

Pope Francis in a sermon today in Rome said, Christians who exploit people, lead a double life and get involved in "dirty business," scandalize the church,In fact, it might be better just to be an atheist, and so many Christians are like this, and these people scandalize others, but to be a Catholic like that, it's better to be an atheist. It is that, scandal. You destroy. You beat down, he said.

According to Vatican Radio. Examples of such scandals abound, the Pope said, adding that they destroy the church and the guilty Christian from within.
He imagines a wealthy Christian knocking at the gates of heaven and saying, "Here I am, Lord! I went to Church, I was close to you, I belong to this association, I did this. Don't you remember all the offerings I made?" To which Jesus may reply, according to the Pope: "Yes, I remember. The offerings, I remember them: All dirty. All stolen from the poor. I don't know you.' That will be Jesus' response to these scandalous people who live a double life."
Thursday's sermon is far from the first time Francis has targeted Christian hypocrites. In a sermon last February, the outspoken pope called out the "fakeness" of some Christians, who talk piously, but do nothing to help others.
"To be a Christian means to do the will of God and on the last day because all of us we will have one that day what shall the Lord ask us? Will He say: 'What you have said about me?' No. He shall ask us about the things we did." It isn't the first time the Pope has mentioned atheists, either.
